Active Professional Loudspeakers for Auditoriums & Large Venues
Self-powered professional loudspeakers with a built-in 24-bit DSP amplifier — no external amp required. From 8" full-range to 18" subwoofers, built for lecture halls, auditoriums, multipurpose halls and stage use.
The Lineup
Four full-range models scale with room size; matching subwoofers extend the low end for halls and events. Every model is self-powered with the same DSP amplifier platform.

Self-Powered, DSP-Tuned, Ready to Deploy
An active loudspeaker has its amplifier and signal processing built in, so an integrator only runs a single balanced signal cable to each cabinet — no separate amplifier rack, no speaker-matching calculations. Each Tralltech loudspeaker carries a 2-in / 4-out 24-bit DSP amplifier module with five selectable preset modes, so the sound is tuned for the cabinet out of the box.
The range scales cleanly: an 8" cabinet covers a classroom or small hall, while the 15" model and an 18" subwoofer fill a large auditorium or an outdoor event. A balanced XLR input plus a LINK output lets you daisy-chain cabinets, and RS-485 networking allows multiple units to be tuned together.
All models are CE, FCC and RoHS certified and available for OEM customisation.

What is an active (powered) loudspeaker?
An active loudspeaker has its power amplifier and signal processing built into the cabinet, so it only needs a line-level audio signal and mains power to work. A passive loudspeaker, by contrast, has no amplifier inside and must be driven by a separate external amplifier. Every loudspeaker in the Tralltech AS range is active, with a 24-bit DSP amplifier module inside.
Should you choose an active or a passive loudspeaker?
Active loudspeakers are usually the simpler choice for integrators: there is no amplifier to size or rack, the speaker and amplifier are already matched, and you run a single signal cable to each cabinet. Passive systems can make sense for very large fixed installs with centralised amplifier racks. For most lecture halls, auditoriums and events, an active loudspeaker like the AS range is faster to deploy and easier to support.
Can these loudspeakers be used as stage monitors?
Yes. The 10-inch, 12-inch and 15-inch cabinets have an angled side panel, so they can be laid on the floor and used as wedge stage monitors as well as stood upright as main or fill speakers. This makes them flexible for events, assemblies and performances.
How do you connect an active loudspeaker to a source or mixer?
Each cabinet has a balanced XLR input that accepts a line-level signal from a mixer, audio processor or source device, plus a LINK output so you can daisy-chain the signal to the next cabinet. You do not connect an active loudspeaker to an external power amplifier — the amplifier is already inside.
Do you need a subwoofer with these speakers?
For speech and general programme in classrooms and meeting rooms, a full-range model alone is usually enough. Add a subwoofer when you need strong low-frequency impact — for music, performances, or large halls. The matching 15-inch, 18-inch and dual-18-inch subwoofers extend the low end down to around 30–35 Hz.
What size loudspeaker do you need for an auditorium or large hall?
As a general guide, an 8-inch model suits classrooms and small halls, a 10-inch or 12-inch model suits mid-size lecture halls, and a 15-inch model with a subwoofer suits large auditoriums or main sound reinforcement. The right choice also depends on audience size, room acoustics and how many cabinets are used, so we are happy to advise on a configuration for your specific venue.
