The most common system-integration question with a PTZ camera is "which output do I use?" The T-VID-CAM-4K sends HDMI 2.0, 3G-SDI and IP/LAN plus USB — three high-definition digital signals at the same time, with HDMI 2.0 and 3G-SDI both carrying uncompressed video for professional recording.

Overview

Built to record, track and stream

The T-VID-CAM-4K pairs a 1/1.8″ 8.42-megapixel UHD CMOS sensor with a 20× optical zoom lens (60° wide field of view) and a self-developed motorised pan-tilt head. It captures true 4K (3840×2160) at up to 60fps and is down-compatible with 1080p and 720p.

Its defining strengths are network video and automation — NDI®|HX2 and SRT for low-latency IP streaming, on-board single-lens AI auto-tracking that keeps a presenter framed without an operator, and uncompressed HDMI 2.0 / 3G-SDI output for professional capture — so one camera covers the call, the recording and the live stream at once.

Engineering note — The camera runs on PoE+ (802.3at) through the LAN cable, or DC 12V — the PoE+ switch is supplied by the integrator, not in the Tralltech BOM. Use NDI®|HX2 or SRT over IP for recording and streaming servers, the USB port as a UVC webcam (with PTZ control) for Zoom and Teams, and HDMI 2.0 / 3G-SDI for uncompressed feeds. Control is via RS-232, RS-485, IP or USB using standard VISCA / Pelco-D / Pelco-P protocols. NDI®|HX2 and the gravity sensor (auto image flip) are optional functions.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the 4K (T-VID-CAM-4K) and Full HD (T-VID-CAM) PTZ camera?

Both share a 20× optical zoom and motorised pan-tilt head. The Full HD T-VID-CAM uses a 5MP sensor with 1080P60 output and four-way SDI/HDMI/IP/USB output, suited to standard meeting rooms. The 4K T-VID-CAM-4K uses an 8.42MP UHD sensor with 4K60P output and adds NDI®|HX2, SRT, AI auto-tracking and uncompressed HDMI/SDI — built for lecture capture, auditoriums and live streaming.

What is NDI®|HX2 and why does it matter for a PTZ camera?

NDI®|HX2 is a low-latency, plug-and-play IP video standard that sends audio, video and control commands together over a standard network. On the T-VID-CAM-4K it lets a recording or streaming server receive the 4K feed over a single LAN cable, which simplifies wiring in classrooms and large rooms compared with running separate video cables.

How does the AI auto-tracking work?

The camera carries an on-board AI chip running single-lens humanoid tracking. It detects and follows the presenter automatically, keeping them framed without a camera operator. This is useful for lecture capture, conferences and live streaming where the speaker moves around the room.

Can the 4K PTZ camera be used with Zoom and Microsoft Teams?

Yes. The T-VID-CAM-4K has a USB 2.0 UVC output with UVC PTZ control, so it connects as a webcam for Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and other soft-codec platforms. It can output HDMI 2.0, 3G-SDI and IP at the same time for hardware codecs, recording or streaming.

What outputs does the camera have, and can they run at the same time?

It provides HDMI 2.0 (up to 4K60P), 3G-SDI, IP/LAN and USB. It outputs three high-definition digital signals simultaneously, and both HDMI 2.0 and 3G-SDI carry uncompressed video for professional recording.

How is the camera powered and controlled?

The T-VID-CAM-4K runs on PoE+ (802.3at) over the LAN cable or on DC 12V, drawing up to 18W. It is controlled via RS-232, RS-485, IP or USB using the standard VISCA, Pelco-D and Pelco-P protocols, with an infrared remote included.
